Creating The Life of My Dreams

If you’ve been a part of my journey for any time, the title should ring a bell. Since 2021, I have been on a journey to get back to myself, be obedient, and see what’s on the other side. I’ve had images in my head of my life and future for as long as I can remember. And with every relationship, city, and job I’ve had, I've tried to make those things fit into the images of what I felt God was telling me was soon to come. However, this year, God took a lot from me. Much more than I can begin to articulate without a bit of angst. In that same breath though, he’s given me equally as much.

This year has been filled with losing people literally and figuratively, losing parts of me that can’t go to the next part of the journey, sometimes losing hope, and narrowly losing faith. Nobody talks about how refreshing yet lonely the journey to authenticity is. How you turn down “good” things because you know there is “great” out there. How though you’ve never seen it you feel it and that feeling won’t let you sit still or settle for anything other than THEE thing. But sometimes as you wait, you feel alone. Most don’t understand and honestly, they aren’t supposed to. He called you!

My friend Ebony once said, “Sometimes you have to betray yourself to save yourself” and in doing so, I have been fortunate enough to rediscover myself. The person God created me to be “In The Beginning”. When I wrote my devotional journal a year ago, I wrote it in my personal study time. Now, a year later,  it has been the lifeline I needed to rediscover myself and detach from everything I felt I was supposed to be. So, cheers to a year of growth, rediscovery, and my very own lifeline! But more than that, cheers to creating more memories, opportunities for laughter, joy, adventure, and living life in its purest form. Cheers to creating the life of my dreams!
